Rebecca Gough
Rebecca Gough was born and raised in Manchester with over 15 years of musical experience from a young age, playing a range of music from House, Tech House, Micro-house, Melodic, Electronic house & techno.
During this period Rebecca grew the love of her musical passion through playing instruments such as piano and guitar, which then led her to studying music technology, learning how to use multiple software platforms such as logic and ableton, and collecting vinyls through the inspiration of her father.
Her main inspiration came from Mathew Jonson, an electronic artist from Canada. The reason being is how he used old music in his sets such as music from Gary Newman, Kraftwerk and Legowelt she saw the inspiration that music her father taught her could be incorporated into new, current music and DJ sets. She also fell in love with the way Mathew produces, finding the sounds created from Prophet 5 Synthesizers are exactly the sounds she wanted to create and use for her own music.
Another inspiration came from Dixon, an electronic artist from Germany. She describes the way he plays 10/12 hour sets as an emotional journey, as he incorporates elements of dance, deep melodic, afro and electronic techno throughout this ‘journey’, which has inspired her on how to perform and how to express all elements of emotions throughout a set.
Now being a self taught DJ, Rebecca has relocated to London to progress her artist style through radio show podcasts and gigs in London and Europe, having previously performed in Tenerife for the ‘Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival’ and in clubs such as Orange Yard, Egg, London, Beat Club, Night Tales, Koko & Studio338.
She also plays in bars, restaurants and hotels across London such as Mama Shelter & Meraki whilst holding residencies playing regularly in 5 star hotels such as The Mandrake Hotel, Sanderson Hotel and St.Martins Lane Hotel.
Rebecca has played alongside artists such as John Digweed, Tal Fussman, Tim Green, Roman Flugel, Nick Warren, Yokoo, Oona Dahl, Ame, Henrik Schwarz, Fur Coat, D-Nox, Joone, Ramoss and more with scheduled upcoming gigs to come this year. She also has a monthly radio show on Bloop Radio London: Boreal Nights.
